UEFA European Football Championship commonly known as European Championship or Euro. The tournament was held every four years since 1960. It was originally called European the European Nations Cup. In 1968 this name was changed.

Euro History

European football competition was first proposed by the French Football Federation’s in 1927, however it was not until 1958 that the competition was begun. In respect of Delaunay, the trophy granted to the victors is named after him.

1960 tournament will be held in France.It was won by the Soviet Union. Spain pulled back from its quarter-last match against the USSR as a result of two political protests.

Of the 17 groups that entered the passing competition, striking truants were England, the Netherlands, West Germany and Italy. !964 tournament will be held in Spain.

West Germany was a remarkable truant by and by and Greece pulled back in the wake of being drawn against Albania, with whom they were still at war. The hosts beat the title holders, the Soviet Union, 2–1 at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid.

The competition group remained the equivalent for the 1968 competition, facilitated and won by Italy. For the sole time a match was settled on a coin hurl and the last went to a replay.

More groups entered this competition, a demonstration of its expanding notoriety. Belgium facilitated the 1972 competition, which West Germany won and Herbert Wimmer at the Heysel Stadium in Brussels.

This competition would give a sample of what might be on the horizon, as the German side contained a large number of the key individuals from the 1974 FIFA World Cup Champions.

The 1976 competition in Yugoslavia was the rearward wherein just four groups participated in the last competition, and the toward the end where the hosts needed to qualify.

After many changes in the tournament, now the Euro 2020 championship coming after four years and 24 teams will participate in the tournament, 20 teams are selected and four teams are left to select. Witness the all tournament Euro 2020 live.
